I realized that most of my creative hobbies rely on the computer. Or at least they did, since I've stopped doing a lot of it. I sit all day in front of a computer, I'm not to thrilled to come home and continue! So I've stopped working on flash or design. I eventually hope to get back into it, but for now I needed a creative outlet that wasn't with the computer.
Answer? Photography! I took the step and got myself a Nikon D90. So far so good. Still need to learn A LOT and I need to bring back my notes from Photo 1.
I took Photo 1 (like most of Emerson did) and absolutely LOVED it. If I had enough money to afford it, I would so have a dark room in my house. But at the moment, I have to delay that dream.
Granted, with photography there is still post production on the computer, but at least half of it is being outside or creating something without the computer, and I'm very excited.
So I've created a Flickr account to post them, and I've added a banner at the top of this blog to display them.
I feel like such a newbie and I love it! Just knowing that I might be looking back in a year or two and see improvement and see how much I've learned (hopefully!). I've seen people do 365 projects, where they post one photo a day, and it sounds like such an awesome project! But I don't feel nearly good enough or ready enough to do something like that, so I've set myself this goal for 2011. Maybe by then I might feel more comfortable with the camera.
