Bye bye 2010

I thought I'd do a small post to list all the great things I'll remember from twenty ten:
*Note, they are not in a specific order.*

-Traveled to Paris, Stockholm and Amsterdam. I don't just say "Europe" because there is still SO much Europe to see...
-I saw the final episode of Lost with the Cast and Crew, and I got to meet them all too. It was truly a wonderful night.
-I got to see my parents three separate times this year. Something I truly cherish.
-I got to see ALEX! Who is currently traveling/living around the world.
-I had the opportunity to share World of Color and the WB lot with my parents.
-Had a wonderful visit from Alicia and Lauren, who introduced me to the Melting pot, another wonderful new thing for 2010.
-Mikael and Brigid finally made an appearance in LA, and it was lovely to see them.
-Visited San Francisco and Berkeley.
-Had the opportunity to see Mandy Patinkin aka Indigo Montoya portray Eric's grandfather in a play.
-Celebrated Michael and Phil's promotion and Eric's new job.
-Carved my first pumpkin with love.
-Dressed as Egg sushi for Halloween, and had as a date a gorilla man.
-Hosted a murder mystery dinner. Turns out I was dating the murdered...jaja
-Andrea treated me to DELIRIO. The most amazing Salsa show in the salsa capital, Cali.
-Jumped to a new age group. Which I realized like a week later when I was filling out a form...
-Had my first White Christmas in Asheville, NC, had my first Christmas with Eric and was able to spend time with Sophia and get to know her better.
-I bought a new camera and started taking photos for fun.
-I met Eric's Grandmother Tereska. What an amazing woman.
-I was kissed on the Eiffel Tower.
-I was given the chance to be there for my dad when his mom passed away, instead of miles away in LA. This also means 2010 was the first time I lost a family member.

I'm sure more things happened, maybe little things that were wonderful at the time, but now are just scattered memories that I might recall here and there.

My 2011 resolutions are more personal, and I have a hard time sharing them. But one of them will be to blog more because it forces me to write. I still haven't figured out exactly what I want this blog to do, but here's to hoping that I figure it out in 2011.

hidden mickey

I rescued a couple of flowers from a dying bouquet that was placed in the kitchen at work.
One of them included a closed bulb which blossomed over night.

And to my surprise there was a hidden Mickey inside!

Now what's a hidden mickey? It is said that in Disneyland/Disney World, they are tons of "hidden" mickeys around the park, and it has become almost a game to find them all.

It's quiet magical to work for the mouse.

whattup

Lets see, I haven't updated since August 31st, that's almost two months! I thought I'd share some photos I've captured with my phone.

Here we have a tooth shaped thing in the garage at work. Not sure what forms these spots, but they are usually circular and I see them all the time in other parking garages, but never one shaped like this! I had to take a pic. Next we have Phoebe in her favorite spot on my desk. She loved following me around, and when ever I'm on my desk, she kept laying down in that corner, so why not put a nice pillow. She loves it. I've even caught her laying on it when I'm not around.

And check out this amazing Lego of Woody and Buzz!

Giant Jenga!

At work today we were all invited to a full on summer celebration at the lot with complimentary food and games for everyone!

It was sooooooo much fun. I usually don't play carnival games because I suck at them and they are a bit too pricey in my opinion, but since they were free I tried them all! And yes, I was right, I do suck at them and was only successful at the "bowling" game. But I was able to get myself a cute polar bear plush toy for my cube.

There was typical summer foods (burgers, hot dogs, watermelon) but also fun stuff like a photo booth, cotton candy, ice cream, popcorn, henna tattoos, face painting, carnival games and even a huge slide. I think we all felt like kids again, it was awesome.

Eric was able to come along, and we found a big Jenga!!

Check it out, a before and after shot.

And I won! To be fair, for the last four rounds the thing was already tilting and the wind was not helping...each time the other person succeeded we were in disbelief! jaja

Flower Power

I love having flowers around the house, to me they make a house feel more like home. Every two weeks or so I stop by Trader Joe's and get a pretty bouquet.

I always forget that these flowers, for the most part, come directly from Colombia! (As you can see on the little packet)

Not sure why I forget, but it always surprises me and brings a smile to my face. Not only do the flowers make my home feel cozier, I feel just a little bit closer to Colombia.

Usually I find a colorful bouquet, but all they had this time were pretty yellow ones, and if you know me, you know I'm in a yellow phase, so I thought they were perfect. :0)
