Hump Day Blogging

August has been absolutely wonderful. Besides the couple of 100 F days, we've had a an eventful month. Eric's birthday came along, which was wonderful! But it also reminds us that we are all turning 25 this year (ick!).

We had lovely people over for some burgers and games. My grilling was a success and so was the crazy charade game. It's a mix between taboo an charades with a special ending.

If you've never played this game, you must try it at your next game night! It is always a success.

We've played it with around 6-12 people. You give each person a specific number of little papers to write the clues, depending on how many you want to play. Each person writes down anything they want. It can be a phrase, a noun, even two weird words put together

Some of my favorites have been:

-Sexy Manatee
-Hot Babe
-Dial Up Porn
-Rocking the Boat

You put them all in a hat or bowl.
There are two teams.

The game consists of three rounds.
Each player has one minute and their the team must guess.
First Round: You must describe the clue like in taboo, without saying the clue, things that rhyme with the clue or words in the clue.

Second Round: Once all clues have been guessed, you put them back into the hat/bowl for this round, in which you must describe the rules with charades and can't speak or make noises.

Third Round: This is when it gets tricky. All clues go back in to the hat/bowl and you must describe the clue with ONE word, and one word only. All of the clues have already been played twice (in round one and two) so you have to think of a word that might make the team remember that clue. One word - New York City does not work.

Instructions are long but it's SO MUCH FUN. Not sure how good I explained it, but oh well.

We also had lovely Alicia and Lauren come visit.

They introduced me to my new favorite restaurant: The Melting Pot. SO GOOD. But oh so expensive. Must be reserved for very special occasions.

I love when friends visit!
